I'm hoping to do a proper write up soon of yesterday's trip to the Badlands and in particular a post full of pictures of these saddles. I took a couple hundred or so pictures of just these four saddles. They were a highlight (for me) in this very cool museum.
What was the purpose of the open spot in the seat of the saddle
